Foundation programme
Duration: 2 Years (4 Semesters)
Entry Requirements

Five O'Level credits including Mathematics, English Language, and Physics. Credits in Chemistry or Further Mathematics are an advantage. UTME score as prescribed by JAMB.

Electrical/Electronics Engineering

Diploma Option: National Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Programme Philosophy

The establishment of this Department is to train graduates who will be electrical and electronics technicians to function effectively in manufacturing, assembling, servicing, power generation, transmission, distribution and utilization, telecommunications and other related industries.

Programme Objectives

  1. Construct simple electrical/electronic circuits; assemble, install and test-run equipment
  2. Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on installations/equipment; select appropriate instruments for testing
  3. Operate relevant equipment, prepare bills of quantities and specifications
  4. Coordinate and supervise craftsmen in electrical/electronic engineering services

Duration

Minimum of 4 semesters of 17 weeks each. Students are expected to register a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 20 credit units per semester.
